East India Teahouse

We source our teas from the East India Teahouse. We currently stock 17 different infusions, herbal tisanes and loose-leaf teas, including white, green and black teas from China, the sub-continent and Africa. Our herbal tisanes and infusions include an organic longleaf rooibos, an organic whole flower chamomile, and a Morrocan mint infusion. We also have a nettle & mistletoe-based tisane, which is formulated to soothe and relax the drinker, as well as a yerba mate blend, which is packed with energy.

The East India Teahouse uses artisan blenders and highly trained and skilled tasters so that each blend is of the highest quality and consistency.

BLACK

English breakfast
A traditional English tea blend of Assam for strength, Ceylonese for flavour and Kenyan for colour.

English afternoon
A blend of black Chinese teas infused with jasmine, natural bergamot and rose petals.

Earl grey
A Classic blend of Chinese Keemum tea & natural Bergamot, with Safflowers for colour.

Darjeeling
This tea has a mild flowery aroma. It is a superb marriage of flavour and strength. Margaret’s Hope FTGFOP second flush.

Lapsang Souchong
This Chinese tea is smoked over resinous pine needles which impart a strong flavour. It is then blended with Ceylonese tea.

GREEN/WHITE

Rose of the orient
A distinctive blend of green teas with aromatic flowers. Teas- organic sencha, organic wu lu, pai mu tan & gunpowder. Flowers- jasmine, organic bockrose cut, rose buds, marigold blossoms,cornflower blossoms and mango rose essence.

Jasmine finest
High quality Chinese green tea and whole
jasmine flowers.

Pai mu tan Superior
This Chinese white tea is delicate and sweet in flavour, with a light yellow liquor and mild flowery aroma. It contains 10,000 times the anti-oxidants of green tea.

HERBAL/TISSANES

Morrocan mint
A superb digestive. Peppermint, nana-mint, orange peels, ginger bits, cacao peels, cactus blossoms and flowers of sandy immortelles.

Chamomile
Organic chamomile flowers - a soothing herbal infusion with many health benefits.

Passion
A very popular blend of apple with cinnamon, lemongrass & ginger. It also contains rooibos, bean peels, mistletoe, perforated St. John’s wort*, field eryngo, flavouring, cardamom, clove, black pepper, lemon peel and ginseng roots.

Forest fruits
Apple bits, beetroot bits, rosehip peels, currants, elderberries, raspberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants, blackberries and natural flavouring.

Nettle and mistletoe
The light, zesty, lemony flavour of this herbal blend is formulated to calm and relax. It contains mistletoe, nettle leaves, St Johns wort*, ginko leaves, lemongrass, bean peels and birch leaves.

Rooibos
Rooibos, or Red Bush, is an excellent caffeine & low tannin alternative to tea. It’s full of anti-oxidants too.

Lemongrass & Ginger
Lemongrass, ginger bits, liquorice root, rose hip peel, fennel, peppermint leaves, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, pepper and calamus root.
